Housebreaking
My dog is a 4 month old malti-Tzu. She weighs a little under 5 lbs. I am having a problem getting her to use the pads. I even got a spray that is supposed to show her where to do it. She keeps going to a spot just off the pad if confined to the bathroom. No matter when i let her out to run and play she goes in an inappropriate place. I have never scolded her. Just show her the pad and tell her good girl and put her stools there. Hints please?
Eileen
Hi Eileen,
With pads, you want to cover all area of floor, then gradually reduce area, use lots of positive praise. Regards to outside, she should be on a leash and taken to appropriate area, tell her to go potty, remain quite and praise when she goes. Then let her run and play. If she doesn't go, take her back inside, confine for 5 minute then try again. It will take some patience and time but be consistent.Good luck!
Regards, Lisa
