Cujo at Bedtime

Dear Trainer,

I have this sweet little poodle mix that turns into cujo at bedtime. As soon as we all get into bed he goes nuts! I am sure he is playing but he gets so rough ... LOL. How can we discourage this behavior? Crying or yelping doesn't help at all.

Thanks, Clara

Dear Clara,

Some dogs will actually get possessive of the bed and owners. I would get him a dog bed and have him sleep next to you, but not in the bed. You might have to loose some sleep the first few nights, but if you are consistent and stick to it, a couple nights will do the trick. If you have to, put a leash on him a lead him back to his bed till he settles.Once you have a good nightly routine, try inviting him up. If he acts up, tell go to his bed. Remember, its your bed!

Good luck,Lisa
